I love Rishikesh for its peace and serenity. Thanks for helping with some of the interesting ways to relax there. Meditation and Yoga are a big YES, because if not that then what in the Yoga City of the World.

Hi there, did this mean you did your 200 or 300 training at a school but you stay at a guesthouse of your choice? Is it possible to join the trainning by just walkin and pay for the yoga and food only? Honestly, the full board course is very expensive comparing to the general Indian living cost. Food and accommodation aren’t expensive at all in India but when it is incorporated into a yoga training course, the price is skyrocketing. Maybe western people cannot relate when I say that this is expensive, I’m just from a poorer country that is richer than India. Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Just out of interest I know everyone recommends rishikesh for yoga training but I can only go in Dec when it’s going to be so cold and I’ve looked at goa (which I’ve been to before and love) but which should I do as I want to go for the right option and the school I’m looking at in rishikesh is yogpeeth which is meant to be very good

Nice article but one thing i want to mention most of school have similar facilities and located in same area. Also they share same teachers so you can choose one that suits your budget because the end result will be same. We also have yoga school named Rishi Yogpeeth.

This is such a great post. I spent a few days in Rishikesh and keep meaning to go back for a yoga retreat. Such a beautiful place, and so different to the rest of India.
