Thanks for article on Kathmandu. I am native from this place. Besides Thamel there are many places tourists can enjoy. Syambhu nath temple(monkey temple), Kathmandu Durbar Square,Freak Street, etc.

This is great! I’m leaving Bangkok for Kathmandu in 3 weeks and although I’ve got lodging covered, the rest of the guide sounds lovely and I’ll be hunting down this sunset spot! Maybe even a day at the spa? I’m not fond of Thai massage and a day spa may be just what I need to counter the chilly Nepali nights….Thank you for posting this!
Maybe if you’re around Elen we could meet up for a drink or a meal? I arrive on March 15th. I’ll be following you on social media now and I’ll shoot you a message when I arrive to see if you’re around! Would be great to hang out with someone who knows the area.
