I had the bad idea to send the parcel with India Post. After more than one month, was supposed to take 2 weeks, it hasn’t arrived and actually nobody knows where it is.
The funny thing is the post office told me I shoudl pay 20,000INR complaint depost fee (while they also say the parces has been delivered to my country, while post office of my country says it has not).
My parces doesn’t even worth 3000INR and there are only my USED personal stuff (clothes I bought in Africa while I was there before getting to India and cheap very cheap presents)

Better to pay more than wasting all this time behind such a bad service. Lesson learned.

I need to send my dad his birthday presents, I’m in deshnoke rajasthan at the moment and tried their DHL and they said it would be 5600 rupees. Do you think it would be best trying a local post office when I’m in a bigger city? Thanks

In reply to Beth Bauer. Pricey! Yeah hate when everything is closed when you need something done. Goa does "siesta" thanks to the Portuguese so it's always seeming closed.

Good information. I’m an expat living in the Delhi area. I just shipped a box home to Portland, Oregon via DHL and it cost $250. I wanted to use the local post office but every time I went there it was closed. I really enjoy your blogs and you are an inspiration to me!

Hey!

You are too sweet! My roommate says I can get Dove deodorant here in Udaipur. Hopefully she will show me soon, but my mom actually put some in the mail for me. :) If something goes wrong I will let you know.

Great info!
Last year I used DHL to ship stuff to the States. It was so expensive, $250 I think. Yikes! However, it did arrive in about 4 days. Super fast.
Now I am waiting on a package from the States. It was shipped from the post office. I hope it does not get lost. It has Dove deodorant in it. I can’t find deodorant in Udaipur, only antiperspirant and it is a liquid role on. I don’t want to use it. Sorry that got totally off topic. Ha!
