So funny Rachel, but so true!

I can’t remember how many times I ordered “plain” rice in India, only to be given rice with sauce all over it! Or fish, only to be given chicken!

When I tried to explain what I wanted, I only received a look of blank understanding so in the end, I just ate it!

In reply to Pritam. I LOVE Mainland China and I think you're right they have more budget as well to go ahead and make a dish for free if there is some issue, wheras small restaurant see that coming from their own pocket when in this case they felt it was Budweiser problem, not their problem.

I once went to Mainland China in Mumbai with a group of 4. Found a bug on one of lettuce leaf. The manager came in, apologized profusely and also invited me to have a look at their kitchen to see how clean they maintain it. Of coz, they changed the dish and gave me extra 5-6 desserts all free. In fact the manager apologized a couple of more times and also on our way out. I think the chains would have a good customer service whereas stand-alone restaurants wont have them.

Rachel, I have seen this happen in Udaipur too. However, i had a totally different experience at TGI Friday’s in Mumbai. There was a piece of plastic in my friends drink. We did not pay for anything. When we asked for the bill they said it was taken care of. I was in shock. I know it is an American company, but I did not expect them to cover the whole bill. Nice!

Ha! Funny story. I love it how you imitate when they say okay okay. When you hear the “okay okay”, it usually means that they have given up and you are on your way to getting what you want. The best is when you try to bargain in the market. The price is too high and you are like Ferget it! And start to walk away. But you walk slowly and have one ear open for the “okay okay”

its only now,thta is ee this stupidity and rudeness in people..earlier ,probably a decade ago,people were much nicer..i thought it was the kaliyuga period that we are supposedly going through now,(as mentioned in the hindu scriptures) that was to blame..
