It’s funny how perceptions change when you live somewhere for a while. It’s quite a good idea using the monsoon water to wash cars though! When we were travelling in the summer in western China we saw people parking their cars in streams to wash them, but then down stream people were washing their clothes and dishes…

I remember the first time I saw people washing their motorbikes with puddle water in Cambodia. At first it struck me as very weird. And then I thought, at least they’re not wasting water!
