Thank you for your introduction to Coorg. Inspired by your experience I have booked a tour with GoMowgli in October. This is with my family (one child), so will definitely avoid the trek. The Irrupu falls looks inviting and is in the itinerary. Expecting to have as much fun as you had. BTW, I mentioned you when discussing the tour with GoMowgli.

I think one of the more romantic place to visit is Coorg,India. I personally went there on my honeymoon and my husband and I loved the food and the people there! I would strongly suggest Coorg if you like greenery. Although it can get very touristy, especially in the summer, they are very beautiful places with so much green landscape. To break free from the tourist crowd, I would suggest you to try some home-dining options. We went to dine with one of the local hosts on BonAppetour ( http://www.bonappetour.com)., and were treated to a fancy meal at their homes on the rooftop!

This trip sounds amazing! (except for the leeches, they’re not so amazing) That is such a shame about the temple being ruined by the bollywood filming, I hope they’re able to restore it – it sounds like a pretty fascinating place. I also had no idea so many parts of India were SO green!

I always have been a urban girl, but since we started travelling the world I became more connected with nature. I think something inside me is changing… When I read your article and saw your pics I truly want to visit this place… But I have to confess that I would panic with leeches…. :-(

Oh my god, I would have been sitting with you too! I’ll go hiking, but one day (and a short hike at that) is enough for me. Those waterfalls look fun, but NO THANKS to those gross leeches. They do NOT look like that in Canada. I’ve had them before but that one in the photo looks like an alien. Sick. Haha.

That looks so amazing! That’s really not what I’d imagine in India… I love seeing other sides of a country. I’m usually ok with nature and dirt, but leeches are disgusting and I would have been paranoid about it

I really wish I had made it to Coorg last time I was in India – and unfortunately due to time constraints (and geography), I’m going to have to miss it this time too! That shot with the mountains and the mist on the hike is stunning!

I would love to go to each and every one of these places. The hike and waterfalls look awesome. Although, I have to say that leeches freak me out too. I would have been super paranoid that I had leeches on me the entire time! And there are cobras too?!
