If the slits just go to your knee it’s okay to wear them – you’ll get stares regardless of how much you cover! they are as comfortable as ali baba pants if not moreso since you get a slight breeze with the slits

Yes!! It’s so so easy to come to India and wear the ali baba pants they sell on the street – i’ve done it – but then you are 100% seen as a tourist. Same if you wear indian clothing in my opinion unless of course you have been living here, speak some Hindi, kind of seem local, or are with Indian people as their guest … there are times when it does work but just wandering around with a camera in Indian clothing looks like you are playing dress up and makes you a target (IMO)

I’m very much in the school of thought that I prefer to wear clothes that I would ordinarily wear at home, but perhaps with a light cardigan in order to cover one’s arms. When I first went to India, I just wore jeans, cotton tops, and long-sleeved shirts. They worked perfectly ‘cos I won’t be seen wearing khaki or baggy trousers, as I just look weird!

I have shared my income in other posts saying I make more than 3x what I made as a nurse, now that I’m a blogger – and with clothing even when I didn’t make this much I always shopped for quality over quantity and bought nice things, just less of them.
