As an American, I know my dollar stretches quite far in India and because of that, I started getting into more luxury style travel here. I also started taking tours, like the one in Karnataka last year which made me realize tours can be pretty cool.
There are thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands, of tour groups in India offering luxury tours in India. So it’s important to research them before booking. Bespoke India Travel have been showing up at travel meetings like Family Travel Show & Adventure Travel Show, so were worth my time in investigating. I’ll share with you what I’ve found through their site and by interviewing the owner himself.
Although he says the most popular destinations are Kerala and Rajasthan (no surprise there), the more adventurous are booking tours in Andaman’s and Ladakh.
Based on bookings, their 3 most booked trips are:
1. Kerala Gods Own Country
2. Taj Forts and Royal Palaces
3. India Made Incredible
Take a look at the screenshots below to see what these tours include and where they go over how many days. You can see the rates reflect luxury, so I did ask what that means for this company, which I’ll address below.

Bespoke means “made to order” which is what Bespoke India Travel aims toward with their unique bookings. For their tours, one can expect to pay£100-£150 per day per person for high end properties, but if you want the top most expensive hotels, that figure can move to the 250 pound mark.
If that seems too high for you, and you don’t need the Oberoi, they have 4 star properties and boutique hotels in mind which would make your tour closer to £70-£90 per person per day.
Just because you choose the unique boutique hotel over the 5 star, there is no compromise in quality of the touring and “exclusive experiences” that are included in the tour price: an itinerary tailored to you, with every detail made hassle-free. According the owner:
“Sometimes a client will want to mix up the accommodation and stay in boutique hotels, home stays and finish off with a lavish palace stay or treat themselves to a Spa like the Ananda… we arrange all that.”
I asked the owner to just a say a few words about the company and why they might be a match for the readers here on Hippie in Heels.
“Bespoke India Travel takes attention to detail seriously. We know you’ve taken the plunge to visit this huge and in many ways daunting country and we know you’ll need the right partner to make sure that the trip goes without any unexpected hitches. After all, your safety is paramount. We are big on experiences, adventure, and making sure that your time with us is simply unforgettable for all the right reasons… Luxury is about about making the seemingly impossible happen.”
