Welcome back to This is India! I always have funny/weird stories about India to share with friends or family when I talk to them. This is just meant to be an honest portrayal about my life in India through short anecdotes. I also share here what I’ve been up to online outside Hippie in Heels.

What I was up to other than here:

  • I’ve just got back from NE India and am relaxing… nothing riveting to share here. Ben’s still in Goa (he hasn’t started his seasonal work) and I have a couple friends coming to visit: Jeff and Amanda!

Now your story,

I have been trying since I’ve lived here to remember to take a photo of the babies and kids I see on scooters. You will drive around and see a scooter with a mom, dad, and three kids (one of which is an infant).

FINALLY I got a good one thanks to Babu pointing out it looked like the baby could fall.

Sleepy little thing doesn’t even mind she’s on a scooter. It cracks me up that in the US, the following was huge news saying what a bad mom she is for driving fast with her kid on the scooter:

People were slamming Gwyneth Paltrow for doing this, when they were wearing helmets! If you come to Asia, you’ll see this everywhere, not just India. I barely notice it now which is why it took so long to remember to take a photo.

What do you think of it? Do you have a good photo of this? I have seen some crazy ones (5-6 people on one bike) but can never seem to snap a good pic!
