Ben has been spending a lot of time in Kochi for work, and I love to tag along anywhere I can. I’ve been down to check out the Kochi markets three times in the last couple months and have decided the people there are the most photographic of anywhere I’ve traveled! Shame I don’t have one of those fancy cameras (not that I’d know how to use it) because I’m sure these would look even better.
Because they see tourists, but not to the extent of Goa, locals were more open to having their photos taken. In Goa the kids are so over posing for pictures, but kids in Kochi LOVE cheesing it up for a click. Most of these were taken around Fort Kochi, MG road, Marine Drive, and the Kochi Yacht Club. Enjoy!

What stunning photographs! I love all the beautiful colours…have you had the chance to go to an Indian wedding yet?
No, I am going to one in the winter and will write about it!
Wow, they really were loving the camera weren’t they?! What a nice experience :)
They did love having their photos taken! In Goa, I never get to because the kids tell me no when I ask hahah they are tired of tourists!
Great photos!!
Awesome photos! From the pictures it seems like everyone is so friendly. How nice! What is that milky concoction that man is stirring in the photo?
Seems they are frying Banana Chips, and Rachel Wonderful pictorial tour.
Do you mean the big tubs of oil? I think it’s banana or potato chips, I can’t remember!
Lovely photos, Rachel! We haven’t been to India yet but it looks great!

Most of us skip kochi in a rush to reach kottayam, i am sure you would too when you visit, let Ben do the work for you.
Ahhh I’ve spent so much time in Kochi I am kind of over it.. actually the last place I want to go now is Kerala, I am there too much!
Lovely pics! I love candid pictures best–little, illusive moments that just get captured, and give you a taste of what was being felt.
Me too.. I like taking photos of people but get nervous that they’ll yell at me so always ask first but then it spoils the moment because they act different once they know I’ll take a pic
I love these photos!! They truly show Kochi’s personality. Loved that little town :) Now you made me want to return to India!
Thanks Dani! Kochi is such an easy place to photograph :)
