Welcome back to This is India! I always have funny/weird stories about India to share with friends or family when I talk to them. This is just meant to be an honest portrayal about my life in India through short anecdotes. I also share here what I’ve been up to online outside Hippie in Heels.

What I was up to other than here:

  • What I read: I just finished [easyazon_link identifier=”0425274861″ locale=”US” tag=”Hipinhee-20″]Big Little Lies[/easyazon_link] which was good. I didn’t realize until part way through it’s a new TV show with Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon. Now, I’m reading [easyazon_link identifier=”0778317765″ locale=”US” tag=”Hipinhee-20″]The Good Girl[/easyazon_link] which is pretty good, a thriller about a kidnapping.
  • I’m all caught up on work (yay!) and have been planning my next trip: BALI! First, Ben and I are going (it’s his birthday) to stay at a surf resort (the waves look too big, though). Then, my friend will be joining me and we’ll go explore a couple weeks. Any tips?
  • Since it was just Valentine’s day, I thought I’d link to the post about how I met Ben.

Now your story,

When you live in Goa, sometimes you can forget that you are basically living on a vacation! So, me and a couple friends and little Ava baby decided to go up to Ashwem, the beach we go to on the weekends (as if it’s a mission, but it’s only 20 minutes away) and stay at a beach shack for the weekend.

It was really nice! The shack was cute (above) and it was around 1,500 Rs per night (like 20 bucks). It was nice to go stay on the beach for a while and not take my computer.

Goa is really beautiful and even these simple beach shacks have a lot of charm. Ben’s birthday is coming up this weekend so I’m trying to think of what other “tourist” things we can do that are actually fun. Any ideas!?
