It’s almost Christmas! Got a trip coming up? Here are some gifts travelers need, but they just don’t know it yet. If you read my blog ever you can probably guess I don’t put typical “travel” gear on my packing lists as I always think of traveling as an extension of your normal life. Here are some things you can’t go wrong buying a traveler – and things that you might want to ask Santa for yourself.

With “Cyber Monday” coming up most of these will be on sale on Amazon! I am putting the original price next to the items so you’ll have to hover over or click-through to see the sale price.

You can see last year’s list here.

Gifts Travelers Need This Christmas (or basically anytime)

I’ll divide it into sections of tech, beauty, clothing, and travel gear. I swear, these are things I cannot travel without and have personally used every single item linked on this list and it’s not the first time I’ve shared about these awesome products. I don’t work directly with these brands, but I do make affiliate commission from any sales on Amazon that come through clicks from my links. If you buy anything from this list – I make a small cut which I fully appreciate!

Tech gear for the traveler

External Hard Drive

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”112″ identifier=”B005MNGQ6C” locale=”US” src=”https://hippie-inheels.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/31f9dtmKLL.SL160.jpg” tag=”Hipinhee-20″ width=”160″]

I use a military drop-proof [easyazon_link identifier=”B005MNGQ6C” locale=”US” tag=”Hipinhee-20″]1 TB hard drive by Transcend[/easyazon_link]. I have owned this for three years and split it into two parts. One part is for extra storage. The other part is for time-machine backups from my Macbook Pro. I use this to store images while I travel in case I lose my camera or computer. It’s $55.

Extra SD Card for Camera

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”160″ identifier=”B002G12OBO” locale=”US” src=”https://hippie-inheels.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/51Ponu8KK8L.SL160.jpg” tag=”Hipinhee-20″ width=”137″]

I use [easyazon_link identifier=”B002G12OBO” locale=”US” tag=”Hipinhee-20″]SanDisk 32 SD cards[/easyazon_link] for my camera and always travel with two which came in handy when I got pick-pocketed. When a card fills, you can keep it somewhere safe and start filling a new card rather than upload them to your computer and delete the SD card. Then, you have the images in more places for safe-keeping. This brand is the only one I’ve tried and it’s never failed me. I know these are cheaper than other SanDisk 32 GB SD cards listed, but they work fine. These are $9 a piece.

Portable Charger

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”160″ identifier=”B0194WDVHI” locale=”US” src=”https://hippie-inheels.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/31u3IZDjpqL.SL160.jpg” tag=”Hipinhee-20″ width=”160″]

There are so many to choose from but [easyazon_link identifier=”B0194WDVHI” locale=”US” tag=”Hipinhee-20″]this Anker charger[/easyazon_link] is small and lightweight considering how much charge it gives! It’s only $24.

Amazon Gift Cards for Kindle Books

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”98″ identifier=”BT00CTP8P2″ locale=”US” src=”https://hippie-inheels.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/41XT388pnjL.SL160.jpg” tag=”Hipinhee-20″ width=”160″]

Even a $10 gift card can buy a book, but with $25 you’ll be able to let them pick out a few. If you’re looking for a big ticket item, you could get someone a Kindle. I have the most basic “paperwhite” and it was only $50 last Christmas. I use it daily and it makes travel down-time pass much faster.

World Travel Adapter

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”160″ identifier=”B01DU52HFW” locale=”US” src=”https://hippie-inheels.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/419Wb31MV8L.SL160.jpg” tag=”Hipinhee-20″ width=”160″]

I travel with a world adapter so I can put any plug I own in any socket in the world! Can’t beat it. This one is special because it has a two USB ports AND works as a power bank. You can find cheaper (around $10) at Walmart but they do not have USB/power bank and they break after about a year. This one is $21 bucks.

Mini Power Strip

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”160″ identifier=”B01AT281AY” locale=”US” src=”https://hippie-inheels.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/319Ba5YyCgL.SL160.jpg” tag=”Hipinhee-20″ width=”160″]

Usually I like Belkin products, but in this case belkin doesn’t have a cord and sometimes the fit doesn’t work in hotel rooms, so I go for the [easyazon_link identifier=”B01AT281AY” locale=”US” tag=”Hipinhee-20″]JOTO mini power strip[/easyazon_link]. This has an extension cord, 2 USB plugs + regular plugs, and has a surge protector. I use this because often hotel rooms don’t have enough plugs to charge my camera, computer, portable charger, kindle, and phone. This one is $23.

Luggage & Travel Gear

Luggage

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”160″ identifier=”B018SQ9U6M” locale=”US” src=”https://hippie-inheels.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/41iJfQyhD8L.SL160.jpg” tag=”Hipinhee-20″ width=”160″]

I have so many sets of luggage: Delsey, IT Luggage, Calpak, Ricardo Beverly Hills, and more PLUS backpacks. It’s crazy but one perk of being a travel blogger is that companies’ want you to try their luggage. While I am a huge Delsey fan (it’s lasted me 4 years and doesn’t have a dent), the [easyazon_link identifier=”B018SQ9U6M” locale=”US” tag=”Hipinhee-20″]IT luggage[/easyazon_link] is SO lightweight that I cannot recommend it enough and wrote a review of this set here. The 3 pc. set is $275 but you can buy them separately.

Packing Cubes

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”160″ identifier=”B01AH2SHBY” locale=”US” src=”https://hippie-inheels.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/51w02BuHwkpL.SL160.jpg” tag=”Hipinhee-20″ width=”160″]

I didn’t get [easyazon_link identifier=”B01AH2SHBY” locale=”US” tag=”Hipinhee-20″]packing cubes[/easyazon_link] until last year but now I can’t imagine not traveling with them. They keep my luggage so organized. I did a giveaway of these not that long ago. I use the small ones for tech items, the larger ones for clothing, and the long one for shampoo, comb and other long toiletries. I have this exact set in black. They have other less expensive ones from eBags (different shapes and sizes) but this selection of sizes work really well for me. These are $60.

Essential Oils

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”160″ identifier=”B014BYYKTW” locale=”US” src=”https://hippie-inheels.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/419laIgusL.SL160.jpg” tag=”Hipinhee-20″ width=”125″]

There are so many times when traveling that I use essential oils. I explain in that post how to use them for different things. The easiest way to use them is to get a great smelling [easyazon_link identifier=”B014BYYKTW” locale=”US” tag=”Hipinhee-20″]vanilla lavender essential oil[/easyazon_link] combination and put a few drops on a cotton pad which you can tuck into the folds of your luggage. I always do this before a trip to keep my clothes smelling nice. You used to get these for $5 at Bath & Body Works semi-annual sale, but I haven’t seen them there in a long time.

Pretty self explanatory. I love this leather one you can personalize with initials from Etsy. I got it in light tan leather with purple trim. It’s really nice! This is $30 on Etsy.

Beauty Gifts for Travelers

Sunbum Sunscreen Face Stick

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”160″ identifier=”B007MV4BQY” locale=”US” src=”https://hippie-inheels.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/41jqZkacqgL.SL160.jpg” tag=”Hipinhee-20″ width=”160″]

You can’t go wrong getting this little tube of face sunscreen. It’s tiny and I always have [easyazon_link identifier=”B007MV4BQY” locale=”US” tag=”Hipinhee-20″]a Sunbum face stick[/easyazon_link] in my purse. It’s water proof and eco-friendly (it won’t mess up coral reefs). It’s only $7 bucks.

Bumble & Bumble Salt Travel Size Spray

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”160″ identifier=”B01AHJFPJE” locale=”US” src=”https://hippie-inheels.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/31iXwP1X0KL.SL160.jpg” tag=”Hipinhee-20″ width=”111″]

I always use [easyazon_link identifier=”B01AHJFPJE” locale=”US” tag=”Hipinhee-20″]Bumble & Bumble surf spray[/easyazon_link] since I just scrunch my hair up into waves and let it air dry when I travel. This can be put in your carry-on. Price is $16.

Clinique Moisture Surge Travel Size

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”160″ identifier=”B001BKO2ZC” locale=”US” src=”https://hippie-inheels.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/41hIHtLHgfL.SL160.jpg” tag=”Hipinhee-20″ width=”160″]

[easyazon_link identifier=”B001BKO2ZC” locale=”US” tag=”Hipinhee-20″]Clinique Moisture Surge[/easyazon_link] is the BEST face cream out there. This 1.7 oz is travel size and $35.

It’s a 10 Miracle Conditioner Travel Size

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”160″ identifier=”B00CVJ71X2″ locale=”US” src=”https://hippie-inheels.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/312y2vpR7XL.SL160.jpg” tag=”Hipinhee-20″ width=”61″]

I use [easyazon_link identifier=”B00CVJ71X2″ locale=”US” tag=”Hipinhee-20″]It’s a 10 conditioner[/easyazon_link] when I travel mostly because abroad the water isn’t softened so makes my hair brittle and hard to comb. This little carry-on size is 8 bucks.

Clothes & Accessories for the Traveler

The Perfect Pair of Jeans

I have 3 pairs of “Jamie” jeans from TopShop in black, green, and blue. They are the only jeans I travel with – high-waisted, skinny leg, and super stretchy. Love these jeans! They are around $52 USD.

The Perfect Pair of Travel Shoes

I listed my 5 favorite pairs of travel shoes but if I had to pick just one pair to request for Christmas it would be Tom’s! Not just any, but [easyazon_link identifier=”B00120WEMY” locale=”US” tag=”Hipinhee-20″]Tom’s Burlap shoes[/easyazon_link] which are so great for every outfit. Usually they are around $48 USD.

Perfect Eco-friendly Yoga Outfit (and airport outfit)

The yoga outfits at Teeki are by far the cutest things you will ever wear to work out AND they are 100% eco-friendly. The fabric is spun from fabric made by recycled water bottles and plastic. I have two pairs. The prints are seriously cool and so unique and the “mermaid” style tops fits perfectly. The yoga pants are around $40 and tops are around $20.

North Face Black Rain Coat

I have had the same [easyazon_link identifier=”B00PRHAHRC” locale=”US” tag=”Hipinhee-20″]black North Face Venture raincoat[/easyazon_link] for over 6 years and it’s only now starting to fall apart inside- and I live in a tropical country where it rains 5 months straight while still 90 degrees. Jacket price is $84.

Vitamin A Bikini – the “little black bikini”

[easyazon_link identifier=”B013K9NRDO” locale=”US” tag=”Hipinhee-20″]The “Nuetra” bikini from Vitamin A[/easyazon_link] is my all-time favorite bikini at the moment, and I have about 40 cute ones to choose from. I love L*Space, Moana, San Lorenzo, PilyQ, Tori Praver, Melissa Odabash… I could go on and on, but when it comes to one that fits perfectly it’s this “nuetra” top and bottom. They are called the “little black bikini” because they are just the perfect go-to swimsuit. Pricey but a great gift! It’s about $150 for the top and bottom.

I hope you find some great Cyber Monday deals with this list of goodies & gifts travelers need!

Like I said, it’s not all typical travel gear, but these are the items that I love and often pack on my luggage for trips. Have fun shopping!
